Hickman High School lost its sectional playoff game Friday 31-0 at Francis Howell to end its season at 5-6.

Tonight's game marked Hickman's first playoff appearance since 2004.

Hickman trailed 21-0 at halftime and could not recover despite playing Francis Howell strong in the second half. Friday was the third time that Hickman has been shut out this season.

"If we make a couple more plays at the end of the first half, it's a different ball game," defensive coach Roderick Williams said. "Our seniors have done a tremendous job all year. They just out-executed us, that's basically what happened."

Francis Howell improved to 8-3 and advanced to the next round of the Class 6 playoffs to face Fort Zumwalt West.
