INDEPENDENCE — A former western Missouri pastor has pleaded guilty in the death of a former member of his church.

David Love, 52, pleaded guilty Wednesday to second-degree murder in the death of 42-year-old Randy Stone.

Stone was shot to death in his insurance office in March 2010.

Love, who had been charged with first-degree murder, accepted a plea agreement that will require him to serve life in prison with a possibility of parole in 25 1/2 years.

Love was the former pastor of Hope Baptist Church in Independence, which Stone and his wife, Teresa Stone, attended.

Family members have said Love and Teresa Stone had been having an affair for years. She has been charged with conspiracy to commit murder in her husband's death.
