Missouri women's basketball team announces recruits

COLUMBIA — The Missouri women’s basketball program announced its recruiting class Tuesday for the 2012-13 team. The group includes Lianna Doty, Michelle Hudyn, and twin sisters Maddie Stock and Morgan Stock who have submitted national letters of intent along with Rock Bridge standout Lindsey Cunningham, who has signed a letter of commitment to the program.

Cunningham, a two-time All-District player, helped lead the Bruins to district championships in her sophomore and freshman seasons. She was the Bruins’ MVP last season earning first-team MBCA All-State honors and was also named to the AP All-State second team. She led the team in steals, assists, points, and free-throw percentage last season.

Doty, a senior at Kirkwood High School in St. Louis, is a three-year first team All-Conference selection. Last season she averaged a team-high 12.7 points, with 4.7 assists, 3.9 steals and 3.9 rebounds.Doty has a 4.0 GPA.

Hudyn is averaging 25.6 points and 10 rebounds per game for her Eastwood Collegiate team in Kitchener, Ontario. She has been the team’s MVP for the past three seasons and has been selected as the top female athlete at her school the past two years. Last season she became the first female in her district to play senior boys basketball, suiting up for both the girls and boys teams at her school. Hudyn has a GPA above 4.0.

St. Joseph’s Academy seniors Maddie Stock and twin sister, Morgan Stock will also become part of the Tigers next season.

Maddie Stock is a three-year All-State, All-District and All-State athlete. Last season, she led the Angels with more than 17 points per game and made 90 3-pointers. Morgan Stock is a three-year All-Conference and All-District athlete and has earned All-State honors the past two seasons. Last season, she averaged 10 points and 5.9 rebounds per game. The twins have helped their team win two district championships and advance to the state semifinals last season.
