Freshman Emily Miller led the Hickman girls basketball team to a 36-26 win against Helias on Thursday night at Helias High School.

The 5-foot-9 forward led the Kewpies (2-0) with 17 points.

Hickman senior Kimberley Lake nearly posted a triple-double against the Crusaders (0-2). She finished with eight points, 10 rebounds and six blocks.

According to Hickman coach Tonya Mirts, the Kepwies led by 20 points in the third quarter before slowing the game down, and despite missing some fourth-quarter free throws, they won comfortably.

Hickman's next game is against Moberly at noon on Saturday in the Norm Stewart Classic at Columbia College.
