COLUMBIA – A white Mercury Grand Marquis drove through the closed garage door of a Columbia residence and into a vehicle parked in the garage Thursday, pushing the parked vehicle approximately three feet through a wall into the residence, according to the Columbia Fire Department.
Fire crews arrived at a reported automobile accident just before 4 p.m. to find the Grand Marquis seemingly parked halfway in the garage of the two-story residence at 1810 N. Garth Ave., according to a news release from the Fire Department.
A woman and three juveniles had exited the car prior to the Fire Department’s arrival and were taken to a hospital for evaluation, according to the release. No one in the residence was injured.
Fire crews asked the City of Columbia’s Building and Site Safety Department to evaluate the building for any potential structure damage. The building was deemed safe for occupancy.
