Police seek suspect in armed robbery at Midwest Petroleum on Paris Road

COLUMBIA — Columbia police are searching for a male suspect in connection with a robbery at a Midwest Petroleum Co. gas station early Friday morning.

Officers were dispatched at 4:26 a.m. to the Midwest Petroleum Co. gas station on 2712 Paris Road, according to a Columbia Police Department news release. 

The police report stated that the suspect pointed a gun at an employee and yelled at the employee and a vendor, police spokeswoman Latisha Stroer said.

The suspect is described as a male, 5 feet 6 inches to 5 feet 9 inches tall. He was wearing a heavy jacket and sweatshirt, jeans and gloves. He had clothing covering his face, according to the release.

There were no injuries during the robbery.

The suspect took an undisclosed amount of money and left on foot from the gas station, heading east toward Mexico Gravel Road, according to the release.

A Columbia K-9 track unit failed to locate the suspect.

Police are asking anyone with information about this robbery to contact the Columbia Police Department or Crime Stoppers at 875-8477.
