COLUMBIA —A Columbia woman won $100,000 in a new Missouri Lottery Scratchers game, according to a Missouri Lottery news release. The chances of winning were 1 in 300,000.

Jane Hart, a nurse at University Hospital, bought the ticket when she stopped for gasoline at Break Time, 2402 Paris Rd, according to the release.

“This was the first time I ever bought that game, and the first I ever bought a $10 Scratchers ticket,” Hart said in the release. “The game was new, so I decided to give it a try."

The "$1,000,000 Payout" Scratchers game debuted on Jan. 10.

Her husband, Llyod, said he was surprised when his wife told him about the winning ticket, according to the release.

“We’re going to pay off our vehicles, pay bills and we’re not sure about the rest,” Hart said in the news release.

The release said the couple, who will celebrate 35 years of marriage in July, might consider taking an anniversary trip, too.
