Eryn Puett, 9, of Columbia won the national NFL Punt, Pass and Kick competition in the girls 8-and 9-year-old division.

Puett advanced to the national finals through a regional competition hosted by the St. Louis Rams.

The competition took place on Friday. Puett was honored at an on-field award presentation between the third and fourth quarter of Sunday's AFC divisional playoff game between the Houston Texans and Baltimore Ravens.

In the competition each contestant attempted two punts, passes and kicks. Scoring is based on both distance and accuracy. Participants advanced to the national finals through team championship competitions held throughout the regular NFL season. From there, the top four scorers in each age group advanced to the national finals.

Congratulations to Eryn! Great work, she should be proud, as I'm sure her parents are.
