COLUMBIA — A 37-year-old man suffered a serious leg injury after a vehicle hit him early Thursday morning and then left the scene.

At 2:22 a.m., the victim was walking south on Paris Road and was hit by a vehicle that was going the same direction, Columbia Police Department Public Information Officer Latisha Stroer said. The vehicle left the scene, and a passerby called about the incident.

The victim was taken to a hospital, though his injuries were not life-threatening, Stroer said.  There have been no arrests at this time.

The suspect was driving a gray Subaru with damage on the passenger side from the front headlight to the door.
