Hickman girls basketball wins in Sedalia

The Hickman girls basketball team beat Bishop Ward 63-51 on Thursday night in its opener of the Smith Cotton Classic in Sedalia.

Freshman Emily Miller's 24 points led the Kewpies, who improved to 15-2 with the victory. Cherish Walton had 17 points and Jordan Matthews scored 11.

The Kewpies are set to play Parkview in their second tournament game at 7:15 p.m. Friday at Smith-Cotton.
