Hickman basketball uses late-game heroics to topple Raytown South

COLUMBIA — Chris Clark's 3-pointer with two seconds left in the game was just enough.

Hickman boys basketball's 51-48 victory over Raytown South gave the Kewpies third place in the Culver Classic on Friday at Lee's Summit High School.

After a slow start, Hickman was trailing Raytown South by six points at halftime. Hickman rallied, however, behind the help of some underclassman guards. A strong third quarter allowed the Kewpies to tie the game, and the Clark 3-pointer helped push Hickman to 8-8 for the season.

Sophomore Douglas Johnson led the Kewpies with 11 points, Clark scored 10 and freshman Jimmy Whitt scored nine.
