LETTER TO THE EDITOR: Ron Paul's service record distinguishes him from others

Of the candidates for U.S. president in this year's election, only one is a military veteran. Only one candidate has received more support from military service members than even the current sitting president. Ron Paul stands head and shoulders above the rest of the field on his record of service to our country and a ground swell of support from military personnel.

Ron Paul has distinguished himself as a clear voice of sanity when it comes to our national defense. His plan to defend America first and not throw away our troops' lives for the sake of influential special interests and corrupt foreign regimes is light-years ahead of the other candidates. Too many bright young American service members have been sacrificed on the altars of political ambition and corporate greed.

Beyond the direct threats, Ron Paul recognizes that looming fiscal, financial and monetary crises constitute major threats to national security. His plan to cut a trillion dollars from the federal budget, without touching troops' pay or veterans' benefits, is the only serious plan to address these hazards.

As a combat veteran I strongly endorse Ron Paul's candidacy. Support the troops. Support Ron Paul for president.
