Missouri men's basketball team beats Texas Tech

COLUMBIA — The No. 2 Missouri men's basketball team stayed undefeated at home with a 63-50 victory against Texas Tech in front of a sell-out crowd Saturday at Mizzou Arena.

Kim English hit four first-half 3-pointers and the Tigers opened with a 31-24 halftime lead. Marcus Denmon scored 13 points in the second half, finishing with 19 points. English led the Tigers with 22 points.

With the Tigers leading by just seven with two minutes to play, Denmon hit two free throws then Ricardo Ratliffe had a break-away dunk to put the game out of reach.

Phil Pressey was also a big part of the Missouri offense, matching a career-high with 12 assists.

Missouri is now 19-2, its best start since the 1993-94 season. The Tigers (6-2 in the Big 12) play next on Monday night at Texas.
