Ruth Kennedy dies at 53

COLUMBIA — Ruth Kennedy of Centralia died on Monday, Jan. 30, 2012. She was 53.

She was born on Feb. 22, 1958, in Bernie, Mo., to Fred and Helen Louise Hunt Green Carter.

She married Joe Kennedy on Dec. 5, 1994, in Columbia.

Mrs. Kennedy worked as a certified nurse assistant for 35 years, enjoyed watching and feeding birds, gardening and flowers.

Mrs. Kennedy is survived by her husband, Joe Kennedy; a daughter, Jeri Green; a stepson Tory Kennedy; four sisters, Judy Yoder, Joyce, Elder, Debbie Mozingo and Trish Green; three grandchildren, Jacob Green, Jewel Huffman and Khloe Kennedy.

Her parents and a daughter, Rachael Green, died earlier.

Visitation will be at 4 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 4, at Nilson Funeral Home, 5611 E. St. Charles Road, with memorial services following.
