ST. LOUIS — St. Louis police are investigating after a SUV crashed into the Fox Theatre.

The accident happened about 2:30 a.m. Wednesday after two SUVs collided at the intersection of Grand and Washington boulevards, near the theater. Both drivers told police that the other ran a red light.

One of the SUVs then drove onto the sidewalk, struck a light pole and hit the box office areain the front of the theater. A large display window was shattered and the building's marble façade was damaged.

A woman in the SUV that struck the theater was hospitalized with minor injuries. Damage to the theater is still being assessed.
