Columbia College men's basketball beats Park again

The Columbia College men’s basketball team beat Park University for the second time this season, bettering the Pirates 69-58 on Saturday in Parkville. 

The Cougars' defense held the Pirates to just one basket in the first eight minutes of the game, and they left the first half with a 37-27 lead.

Columbia College, ranked 18 in the NAIA Top 25, forced 17 turnovers and had three players score in double digits.

Junior Jordan Dressler led the Cougars with 16 points and 12 rebounds. Junior Hal Payne added 14 points, and senior Taylor Evans finished with 11. Reco Anderson led the Pirates with 15 points.

Columbia College improved to 19-6 overall and 6-1 in American Midwest Conference with the win. The Pirates dropped to 9-13 and 3-5 in the AMC.

The Cougars do not play again until 4 p.m. Feb. 11 when they will play against Williams Woods University in Fulton.
