COLUMBIA — Images of Columbia residents enjoying a warm February, MU students preparing for the Kansas game and shots from the men's basketball victory were among last week's best photos by the Missourian staff.

In a photo by Nick Agro, Sean Turn does a handstand to entertain his friends along Park Avenue last Sunday. The weather was mild for a February day.

In a photo by Timmy Huynh, MU doctoral student Brian Zuleger stretches after his run at Bear Creek Trail on Monday. He, like many other Columbia residents, has been enjoying the warm winter weather.

In a photo by Katie Alaimo, defendant Tony Lewis is congratulated by his defense attorney and co-counsel. Lewis was found not guilt Saturday on charges of second-degree robbery and second-degree murder in the October 2010 death of Aaron Hobson. He was the last defendant to be tried.

In a photo by Grant Hindsley, Boonville firefighters work to put out a fire that started earlier in the morning at Unlimited Opportunities Inc. on Thursday. The complex provides housing services and employment opportunities to people with disabilities. Jerry Saling, a former employee, said the fire will affect the clients "terribly," as they will have "nowhere to go."

In a photo by Timmy Huynh, Missouri fans try to pass the time while camping out in front of Mizzou Arena for the Kansas game. Wade Proffitt, a senior, has camped out for the last three Missouri vs. Kansas basketball games and said his last go-around was the worst because of the cold and wet weather.

In another photo by Timmy Huynh, Missouri's Marcus Denmon tries to shoot past Kansas' Kevin Young but is blocked. This photo tells only half the story, as Denmon helped lead the Tigers past Kansas, 74-71 on Saturday night with his 29 points. He scored nine points on three consecutive possessions, including the go-ahead 3-pointer with 56 seconds to go that helped propel the Tigers to victory.

In a photo by Andrew Mitchell, fans celebrate after Missouri's victory over Kansas on Saturday night. With Missouri changing conferences, the game could be the last played between the rivals in Columbia for the foreseeable future.
