COLUMBIA — Missouri wrestler Alan Waters has been named the Big 12 Wrestler of the Week for the third time this season.

Waters, ranked No. 3 in the country at 125 pounds, shut out both of his opponents over the weekend at Hearnes Center, defeating No. 13 Jon Morrison of Oklahoma State 4-0 on Saturday and No. 8 Jarrod Patterson of Oklahoma 7-0 on Sunday.

Waters is now 21-1 on the season overall and 13-0 in dual meets.

The Tigers, who are currently ranked No. 13 by the National Wrestling Coaches Association/USA Today Coaches poll, went 1-1 as a team last week, falling to No. 1 Oklahoma State 22-12 and beating No. 10 Oklahoma 25-12.

The Tigers will be on the road this weekend in Piscataway, N.J., for the NWCA National Dual Regionals. They will face a field of Rutgers, Kent State, Michigan, Minnesota and Cal Poly.
