The Missouri wrestling team lost to No. 4 Minnesota 26-7 in the finals of its regional of the NWCA/Cliff Keen National Duals on Saturday in Piscataway, New Jersey.
The Tigers began the tournament beating Cal Poly 34-6. In that match, Tigers 125-pounder Alan Waters and 157-pounder Drake Houdashelt each pinned their opponents. The Tigers then beat No. 11 Michigan 21-12 with the help of Waters and 197-pounder Brent Haynes, who both earned major decisions against the Wolverines.
But against the Golden Gophers, the Tigers only had two victories in their 10 matches — major decisions from Haynes and Houdashelt.
The Tigers wrestle next against Big 12 opponent Oklahoma State in a dual meet set for 7 p.m. Feb. 24 in Stillwater, Okla.
