Weather prompts delay of Sixth Ward transit forum

Monday, February 13, 2012 | 1:19 p.m. CST

COLUMBIA — A forum on public transportation that was scheduled to take place Monday evening has been postponed because of the weather.

The forum, sponsored by Columbians for Modern, Efficient Transit and hosted by Sixth Ward Councilwoman Barbara Hoppe, has been rescheduled for 5:30 to 8 p.m. March 12 at Unitarian Universalist Church, 2615 Shepard Blvd. It is meant to give residents a chance to suggest strategies for improving the city's bus system.

A similar forum scheduled for Thursday in the First Ward has not been canceled. First Ward Councilman Fred Schmidt will host that gathering from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Russell Chapel CME Church, 108 E. Ash St.
