Missouri baseball falls to Auburn in season opener

Missouri's baseball team dropped its season opener to Auburn by a score of 5-2.

Missouri starting pitcher Eric Anderson allowed two earned runs over six innings but was outdueled by Auburn's Derek Varnadore, who had 11 strikeouts in seven innings. 

Outfielder Blake Brown had a home run in the loss for Missouri.

Missouri and Auburn will play again at 3 p.m. on Saturday at Plainsman Park in Auburn, Ala.
