After relinquishing the title for a week, Missouri gymnast Rachel Updike was named the Big 12 Newcomer of the Week on Tuesday.
The honor comes after Updike's meet against Oklahoma on Friday night, in which she scored a 9.9 on vault and floor exercise and tied her career high score on beam with a 9.85.
Updike has won the award six times, making her one of three Big 12 gymnasts to win a weekly award six or more times in a season.
Updike will continue her freshman season Friday when the Tigers host Bowling Green at 6:30 p.m. at the Hearnes Center.
