Rock Bridge beats Hickman to win boys basketball district championship

After starting the game with a 13-0 lead, the Rock Bridge boys basketball team never lost its lead over rival Hickman in the Class 5 District 9 final on Friday.

The Bruins beat the Kewpies 70-49 to win its second straight district title. Rock Bridge has beaten Hickman in 21 straight games.

With six of his team's nine 3-pointers, Travis Jorgenson led the Bruins' scoring with 22 points, and Chris Clark's 12 points led the Kewpies.

Rock Bridge has won five district championships in the past six seasons. They will face Rolla (19-8) next at 7:45 p.m. on Wednesday in Rolla. The winner will advance to the Class 5 state quarterfinals.
