Keene Street undergoing repairs until Friday

Monday, February 27, 2012 | 5:37 p.m. CST

COLUMBIA — The Public Works Department will be performing routine repairs on Keene Street beginning Monday and finishing at 4:30 p.m. Friday, weather permitting, according to a news release.

The work will result in temporary lane restrictions on Keene Street between Lansing Avenue and Berrywood Drive in northeast Columbia. Jill Stedem, the department's public information officer, said one lane of Keene Street will be blocked, and traffic will be routed around the construction area.

Stedem said street maintenance crews are replacing concrete slabs in the street that have been damaged with potholes and cracks.

Motorists and pedestrians should exercise caution in the construction area or use an alternate route, the release stated.
