COLUMBIA — A 47-year-old Columbia man pleaded guilty Monday in Boone County Circuit Court to one count of possession of child pornography.

Joseph Kreiser was arrested in June 2011 on suspicion of possessing child pornography by the Boone County Sheriff’s Department Cyber Crimes Task Force, according to a Sheriff’s Department news release.

In February 2011, a task force investigator discovered a computer believed to be in the Columbia area offering child pornography through a file sharing program. Investigators traced the files to Kreiser’s residence at 2904 N. Rangeline Rd.

After obtaining a court-ordered search warrant, investigators seized items containing more than 60 images of pre-pubescent children. Investigators identified Kreiser as responsible for possession of those files.

Krieser has remained in the Boone County Jail since his arrest.

Final sentencing is scheduled for April 16.
