COLUMBIA — The Central Missouri Humane Society will resume its search for an executive director after Kimberly Sherlaw told the organization's board of directors she rescinded her earlier acceptance of the job for personal reasons.

The Humane Society on Feb. 20 announced that it had hired Sherlaw to replace former executive director Alan Allert, who stepped down in October because of health issues.

"We all related very well with her," said Ann Korschgen, treasurer of the Humane Society's board of directors. "We were excited and are, of course, deeply disappointed."

Korschgen said Sherlaw told the board last week that she was no longer taking the job, citing personal reasons.
