After going 3-2 at last weekend's Cathedral City Classic, the Missouri softball team bounced back with two run-rule victories Saturday at the Missouri Coaches vs. Cancer Tournament in Kansas City.
Redshirt junior Chelsea Thomas pitched her third career perfect game in the opener. The Tigers cruised to a 10-0 victory in five innings over Saint Louis University. Thomas struck out eight of the 15 batters she faced for her second no-hitter in a week.
In the nightcap against Southeast Missouri State, senior Kristin Nottleman gave up only a leadoff single in five innings, leading the Tigers to a 9-0 victory.
Missouri will wrap up the tournament Sunday with a doubleheader. The Tigers will face Missouri State at 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. at UMKC.
