Columbia College softball falls to Webber International

The Columbia College softball team lost their second straight game Saturday against Webber International 2-1. With the loss, the Cougars fell to 3-4 on the season.

The game was the Cougars third in two days as part of pool play in the National Fastpitch Coaches Association NAIA Leadoff Classic held in Panama City Beach, Fla.

Center fielder Karina Veit had two hits leading off and drove home the lone run for the Cougars.

With a 1-2 record in pool play, the Cougars were placed in the eight-team consolation bracket, which will finish on Sunday. The Cougars first game in bracket play will take place at 8 a.m. against St. Thomas (Fla.) University.
