Frank Haith named AP Big 12 coach of the year

COLUMBIA — Missouri men's basketball coach Frank Haith was named the Associated Press Big 12 coach of the year. 

In a unanimous selection, Kansas forward Thomas Robinson was named the AP's Big 12 player of the year. On Sunday Robinson was named the Big 12 player of the year, as voted by the league's coaches. 

Oklahoma State's LeBryan Nash was named the AP Big 12 freshman of the year.

Somewhat surprising for coach of the year. Fred Hoiburg, a relatively new coach, took a team that was picked to finish 8th in preseason, and whose individual players weren't highly rated, to a tie for third place, beating Kansas and Baylor once each in the process.
