COLUMBIA — Senior guard Marcus Denmon has been named as one of 15 finalists for the John R. Wooden Award, the award's website announced Tuesday.

Denmon was also named by Sporting News as a second team All-American on Tuesday.

Denmon led the Missouri men's basketball team in scoring this season, averaging 18 points per game. He was also the Tigers' second-leading rebounder at 5.1 rebounds per game.

On Sunday, Denmon was named to the All-Big 12 first team for the second consecutive year. Denmon and sophomore Phil Pressey are on the midseason 30 list for the Naismith Men's Basketball Player of the Year Award.
