ST. LOUIS — Members of the Occupy movement from throughout the Midwest will be gathering in St. Louis this week.
The Occupy the Midwest Regional Conference runs Thursday through Sunday at various locations. People from up to 18 different Occupy movements are expected to attend.
St. Louis was among dozens of U.S. cities where Occupy groups sprang up in the fall, raising participants' concerns about economic unfairness and what they call too much power for the wealthy. Leaders of the St. Louis event say non-violent actions will be taken to draw attention to what they call harmful corporate policies.
Organizers have not said specifically how many people will attend the conference, but they expect hundreds.
