BRANSON — Branson Airport will provide daily nonstop service to Chicago and Houston beginning April 16.

AirTran Airways is a subsidiary of Southwest Airlines and is gradually converting to the Southwest name.

The airport announced in a news release Wednesday that Chicago and Houston are major Southwest markets with connecting service to other destinations.

The airport said the airlines' networks are not currently connected but the two carriers are working to give customers the best flight schedules possible.

Branson Airport now has nine nonstop destinations and one-stop connecting service to most major cities in the United States.
