Irene Nolin enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren

COLUMBIA — Irene Leona Nolin of Columbia died Wednesday, March 14, 2012, at Boone Hospital Center. She was 73.

She was born March 24, 1938, in Lowell, Mass. to Walter L. and Gertrude Cote Nolin. She married Charlie Schuster on Oct. 11, 1980, in Columbia.

Mrs. Nolin enjoyed camping, puzzles, traveling, reading, collecting hummingbird decorations and spending time with her grandchildren and pets. She was a skilled card and Scrabble player.

Mrs. Nolin is survived by her husband, Charlie Schuster of Columbia; two sons, Marc Poulin and wife, Margaret, of St. Louis and Laurent Poulin and wife, Terri, of Columbia; four daughters, Michelle Poulin of Wilmington, Del.; Colette Nolin of Columbia, Celenne Beck of Humble, Texas and Nicole Poulin of San Leandro, Calif.; two brothers, David Nolin and Robert Nolin; a stepson, Chris Schuster and wife, Melanie, of Pacific; and 16 grandchildren.

Her parents, an infant daughter and infant grandson died earlier.

Visitation will be held at 9:30 a.m. Monday at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 903 Bernadette Drive. Funeral Mass will follow at 11 a.m., and internment will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday in St. Joseph's Catholic Church Cemetery in Pilot Grove.
