Missouri football holds first spring scrimmage

COLUMBIA — Missouri football held its first spring scrimmage Saturday.

Quarterback James Franklin, left tackle Elvis Fisher, running back Henry Josey and wide receiver L'Damian Washington did not play because of injuries.

The Tiger defense recorded seven turnovers. Sophomore defensive end Kony Ealy forced two fumbles and recovered one. He also broke up two passes.

Junior linebacker Andrew Wilson intercepted a pass and recovered a fumble.

Senior linebacker Will Ebner and redshirt freshman linebacker Kentrell Brothers each recovered a fumble.

Cornerbacks Xavier Smith, sophomore, and Ernest Payton, redshirt freshman, each had an interception.

Redshirt freshman Corbin Berkstresser started in place of Franklin at quarterback and completed 10 of 25 passes with no turnovers for 105 yards.

Senior wide receiver Gahn McGaffie had eight catches for 75 yards, and T.J. Moe, a fellow senior, had 5 catches for 54 yards.
