COLUMBIA — Robert Schwartz will begin work as chief of staff to University of Missouri System President Tim Wolfe on April 1.

A statement from the UM System said Wolfe's current chief of staff, Kathy Miller, is leaving to spend time with her family.

Schwartz is currently interim provost and executive vice chancellor for academic affairs at the university's Rolla campus.

Schwartz joined Missouri University of Science and Technology in 2002, when it was University of Missouri-Rolla, according to the statement. He was a professor of ceramic engineering and later served as Faculty Senate president.
