Tigers' throwers excel at Missouri Relays

COLUMBIA — Led by sophomore Kearsten Peoples, Missouri athletes dominated the throwing events at this weekend's Missouri Relays at Audrey J. Walton Stadium.

In her first season of outdoor competition, Peoples won the women's shot put and hammer throw events. Her mark of 17.36 meters in the shot set a meet record and puts her at the top of this season's national list of best marks in the event.

Peoples also placed second in the women's discus, while teammates Jill Rushin and Cortni Ervin were second and third in the women's shot put.

Missouri's Brooks Mosier won the men's shot put and teammate Alex McDonald was second.
