Martha Greer is executive director of Missouri Artisans Association/Best of Missouri Hands.
The Best of Missouri Hands is excited to announce the organization's biggest fundraising event of the year. "Your Choice" will provide seasoned art collectors and newcomers alike with the opportunity to acquire high quality, original fine art and fine craft while supporting the non-profit organization mission. Fine food, fine wine and last, but certainly not least, fine art will be the order of business.
It is an experience that will be part fundraiser, part block party and all fun! For each ticket drawn, ticket-holders will be able to select an original work of fine art or fine craft valued at a minimum of $125. A wide array of work will be available, including painting, jewelry, mixed media, wood work and ceramics.
"Your Choice" will be held on Friday, April 13, 2012, at Columbia Art League, 207 S. Ninth St., Columbia MO. A wide variety of work will be available. Tickets are $125 each and are now on sale through PayPal at www.bestofmissourihands.org.
All those who purchase a ticket may bring a guest to the celebration, but only ticket holders will select art. Names will be drawn, and when the name of each ticket-holder is announced, they may select either an original work of art or a tax deduction for the amount of the ticket allowed by law. Artwork and artist bios will be online: www.bestofmissourihands.org and on the Best of Missouri Hands Facebook page two weeks prior to the event.
We are thrilled to partner with the Columbia Art League to present this event. We have many new outreach initiatives in the works, such as an artist mentoring program, regional activities across the state and increased educational outreach. Funds from “Your Choice” will help us support these activities and allow us to strengthen our capacity to serve the state's artists and increase awareness and appreciation of the arts and artists of Missouri.
A special thank you to Amy and Bogdan Susan for serving as chairs of the event. We appreciate their support of MAA/BOMH.
