GAYLORD, Minn. — A Missouri woman is facing a September trial in Minnesota on accusations she caused the death of her newborn daughter 11 years ago.

Twenty-nine-year-old Amy Ann Romero is accused of leaving the newborn to die in some woods in southern Minnesota's Sibley County in April 2001. Prosecutors say Romero was living near Henderson when she gave birth and left the baby girl in the woods.

Romero's attorney, Anthony Nerud, says he's reviewing transcripts of the grand jury's indictment. The Free Press says a May 15 deadline has been set for motions. Romero was living in Breckenridge, Mo., when she was arrested in January.
