Man arrested for robbery at Red Roof Inn

COLUMBIA — Columbia police arrested Aaron C. Ketterling on Wednesday morning in connection with the armed robbery of a woman at Red Roof Inn four days ago.

Ketterling has been taken to the Boone County Jail. Bail was set at $500.

On Saturday, a woman told police that a man entered her hotel room, pointed a gun and took an undisclosed amount of money.

Two days later, the same woman was eating at McDonald's on Business Loop 70 West when she saw him again and notified police.

A license plate number was found on the restaurant's surveillance video. On Wednesday, police reported finding the car parked outside 608 Pennant St., two miles from the Red Roof Inn, 201 E. Texas.

Ketterling was initially arrested in connection with a March 18 report about puncturing his former girlfriend’s automobile tires. Police reported that he admitted involvement in the robbery at Red Roof Inn.. He was charged with robbery in the first degree and armed criminal action.
