PHOTO GALLERY: Palm Sunday observed by Columbia churches

Congregations throughout Columbia gathered to observe Palm Sunday the week before Easter. Palm Sunday is in remembrance of Jesus' entrance to the city of Jerusalem and patrons are provided palm branches to be blessed during the Mass.

COLUMBIA — Congregations gathered together to observe Palm Sunday. The holy day is observed one week before Easter Sunday. Patrons at Sacred Heart Church received palm branches to hold during Mass in remembrance of Jesus' entrance to the city of Jerusalem. The palm branches, some folded like crosses, were blessed during the Mass.
