Columbia College softball splits doubleheader against Park University

The Columbia College softball team split a doubleheader with conference foe Park University on Thursday in Columbia.

Senior pitcher Jordan Crispc improved her record to 12-8 with a complete game in the opener. She allowed two walks and three hits while striking out two in the 6-0 Cougars victory. 

In the second game, a pitcher's duel, the Pirates took the lead in the sixth inning with a solo home run for the only score of the game. Columbia College lost 1-0, and sophomore Taylor Richter took the loss and now has an 8-6 record on the season.

Columbia College is now 20-16 overall and 7-5 in the American Midwest Conference. The Cougars will continue their season against Benedictine University at Springfield on Saturday. The doubleheader is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m.
