Darren Laupp is Rebekah's dad. He shared this account with the Missourian.
On Monday April 16, Rebekah Laupp signed her NCAA National Letter of Intent. Rebekah, a diver for Hickman, chose to dive for Drury University, a powerhouse Division II swimming and diving program. She follows her brother, Michael, who swam for Drury on the NCAA II national championship men's team 2008-2011.
Rebekah began diving eight years ago at the old Mizzou Natatorium. She was one of the last divers to practice in the old pool. With that said, she was also one of the first divers to jump off the springboards in the Mizzou Aquatic Center, where she dives for the Missouri Diving Club.
In her senior year she set the Hickman record for a six dive meet, is being considered for all-American, placed 11th at the State meet and earned all-state honorable mention. During the Hickman swimming and diving season Rebekah placed first at the Springfield Invitational so it is only fitting that she has chosen Drury University.
