Hickman baseball team beats Jefferson City

COLUMBIA — The Hickman baseball team beat Jefferson City 8-6 on Tuesday at Hickman in a makeup of a rained out game.
Jake Alexander was 3-for-3 for the Kewpies (6-5) in the victory, hitting a home run in the sixth to tie the game at 6.
Hickman also scored the go-ahead run in the sixth on Jared Hyler's single. After John Jones walked, Ben Guillory came in to pinch run and stole second and was then driven in by Hyler.
Ben Welch pitched the sixth and seventh innings to earn the win. Colby Fitch hit a two-run home run for Hickman in the early innings.
