James L. 'Jimmy' Morris, Oct. 1, 1957 - April 18, 2012, of Centralia

James L. "Jimmy" Morris, 54, of Centralia passed away April 18, 2012.

Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. on Monday, April 23, at Memorial Funeral Home. Funeral Services will follow at 5 p.m. and entombment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Jimmy was born October 1, 1957, in Audrain County to Robert Lewis and Lila Evelyn (Campbell) Morris. He married Tammie Mueller on September 23, 1975, in Columbia, and she survives. Following in his father's footsteps of the construction industry, Jimmy owned and operated Morris Excavating LLC for over 20 years. Jimmy enjoyed the company of his family and friends as both a loving husband and proud father and grandfather. He was a true outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish. He will always be remembered for his warm smile and deep belly laugh. 

In addition to his loving wife, Tammie, Jimmy is survived by two daughters, Michelle Morris and husband, Sevand Brewer Jr., and Brandi Morris, both of Centralia; his grandchildren, Skylar Morris and ArieAunna Brewer; a sister, Bobbie Bennett of Hallsville; nephews, Scott Pflibsen and wife, Jami, of Richmond Hill, Ga., and Rob Duncan and wife, Tracy, of Hallsville; his father and mother-in-law, Randall and Lorene Mueller of Centralia; as well as other extended family and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his step-mother, Anita Morris, and one of his best friends, Steve Daly.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Scholarship Fund for Skylar Morris and ArieAunna Brewer, c/o Tammie Morris, through any branch of Boone County National Bank.
