COLUMBIA — Marcelyn "Kay" Lewis of Jefferson City died Wednesday, April 18, 2012. She was 62.
She was born July 17, 1949, in Columbia and graduated from Hickman High School in 1967.
Ms. Lewis devoted her life to the service of others, first working in Jefferson City for the U.S. Internal Revenue Services and for the past 20 years for the state's Department of Revenue.
Ms. Lewis also loved to shop, watch cooking shows and listen to soulful music — especially Luther Vandross and Barry White, a release from Millard Family Funeral Chapels said.
Ms. Lewis is survived by her mother, Ida Lewis; two children, Ronald Cross Jr. and Ronica Cross; siblings, Jabari Simama and his wife, Nisha, Joan D. Lewis, Jill Lewis, Jarrell Lewis and his wife, Pennae, and Charlynn Lewis; a number of nieces, nephews, grandchildren and other relatives.
Her father, Floyd "Button" Lewis Jr., and brothers, Jefferson "Bodine" Lewis and James Lewis died earlier.
Visitation was from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday at Millard Family Funeral Chapels, 2613 West Main St. in Jefferson City
Services were at 11 a.m. Monday at Millard Family Funeral Chapels. An interment followed at Hawthorn Memorial Gardens.
