ST. LOUIS — Heavy rain over the weekend has resulted in mostly minor flooding along some rivers and creeks in Missouri.
The National Weather Service reports that Petite Saline Creek near Boonville was a couple of feet above flood stage on Monday, and expected to rise another three feet before dropping. The Sac River near Caplinger Mills in southwest Missouri was also slightly above flood stage and projected to rise another five feet by Tuesday. The Little Osage River at Horton in southwest Missouri was right at flood stage.
No significant damage was expected.
Some parts of the state received several inches of rain over the weekend as strong storms rolled through portions of Missouri. Forecasters are calling for more rain this week.
