Missouri’s Rob Zastryzny pitches the first inning of the Missouri vs. Baylor baseball game at Simmons Field on Thursday. Zastryzny compiled a 4.33 ERA in 16 games for the Tigers in 2011 enroute to earning All-Big 12 Freshman Team honors.
COLUMBIA — After throwing a complete-game shutout during Friday's game against Texas Tech, Missouri's Rob Zastryzny was named Big 12 Pitcher of the Week on Monday.
Zastryzny, a sophomore who took over Missouri's top starting spot in March after Eric Anderson was injured, allowed seven hits and two walks while striking out five in the Tigers' 9-0 victory.
Zastryzny is 4-2 on the season with a 3.58 ERA. No Tiger has received the award since Nick Tepesch won it in 2010.
