COLUMBIA — A Columbia man pleaded guilty to the possession of child pornography Monday in Boone County Circuit Court, according to a news release from the Boone County Sheriff's Department.

Joseph Lynn Clark, 53, of South Bethel Lane, is set to face final sentencing at 1:30 p.m. June 18.

An investigation began March 31, 2011, when a local computer repair business found child pornography on Clark's computer while analyzing it for operational problems, the release stated. The business notified the Sheriff's Department, and the computer was seized.

On April 12, 2011, the Sheriff's Department's Cyber Crimes Task Force served a search warrant for Clark's residence, where it seized two additional computers and other evidence, the release stated.

The children found on the first computer that was seized are believed to be as young as 4 to 7 years old, the release stated.
