Gladys Roth devoted 50 years to the real estate business

COLUMBIA — Gladys Roth was born September 15, 1913, to E. Claude and Opal Palmer on a farm north of Columbia. She died at home Tuesday, April 24, 2012. She was 98.

Mrs. Roth married George Roth on December 22, 1935, and spent her whole life in Columbia. She devoted herself to the real estate business for 50 years and opened Roth Gladys Realtor. 

Mrs. Roth's life was fulfilling and productive. She shared her passion and love in her community and brought kindness, generosity and joy to all the people around her.

She was an active member in the King's Daughters and the Daughters of the American Revolution. 

She is survived by three children, Carolyn Boucher of St. Louis, Vicki Connelly of Kansas City and Dudley Roth of Columbia; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. 

Her husband, George Roth, and a son, George Ronald Roth, died earlier. 

Visitation will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Parker Funeral Home, 22 N. Tenth St. Graveside services led by the Rev. Jimmy Spear will follow at 11:45 a.m. at the Columbia Cemetery, 30 E. Broadway.
