Hickman boys and girls track and field places in Jefferson City meet

The Hickman track and field team competed in a dual meet at Jefferson City on Friday. Both members of the boys and girls teams placed.

The Kewpies girls team took first in the 4-x-100 meter relay, with Kiona Hughes, Hannah Corbin, Corey Potter and Mikayla Logan as runners. Logan pulled a personal best of 17  feet, 9inches, in the long jump and also placed first. Hughes also placed first in the 100-meter dash.

Nicole Mello placed second in the 800-meter race, and Potter placed second in the 300-meter hurdles. The Kewpies also placed in the pole vault — Melissa Lowary came in second, and Dakota Meierotto placed third.

The Hickman boys team's David Ludeman claimed first place in the triple jump with a distance of 43 feet, 3 inches. Devin Sander placed second in the 1600-meter race.

The Kewpies will next compete on May 12 at the district championships in Jefferson City.
